Garage Sale for Orphans – October 30

The weekend of October 30-31 is a fifth Sunday, which would normally be Serve Austin Sunday for our church community. However, this month we are going to do switch things around to a Saturday, and share in a project together that will not only serve Austin, but orphans in Zimbabwe.

Working with HELP’s Garage Sale for Orphans initiative, we will be hosting a garage sale on Saturday the 30th, from 8am-1pm at the Chandlers’ house. Every dime we raise will be used to help pay for a new water well for the Musha Wevana Children’s Home in Zimbabwe.

How can you help?

1. If you have items to donate for us to sell, let us know so we can arrange to have them in our driveway that Saturday.
2. Come to the garage sale on the 30th to see what’s available. Buying used items is good for your pocketbook and for keeping stuff out of landfills.
3. Help us spread the word about #1 and #2.
4. And, of course, if you are part of the aMS community, we’d love for you to be there for as much of the garage sale as you can — helping sell items and explain what we are up to.
