Our first photo went live today, courtesy of Phil Coffman. Phil is a local designer, photographer, and a friend of mine. He has some great work on Flickr and I always enjoy seeing the pictures he takes with his iPhone. Thanks for making great art, Phil.

It has been in development for a few months, so I’m excited that it is finally ready for you to see it too! Of course, there are likely still a few kinks to be worked out here and there. Consider this an invitation to beta test and explore the site. Leave a comment if you find any bugs.

We have some unique plans for the large image the stretches across the home page. The image that is in place now is only a placeholder that is to be replaced by a virtual photo gallery. Much like an artist or photographer might be able to display their work in a coffee shop, I’m making this space available to local photographers. I’ve already been in contact with a few photographers from our church community and others I know in Austin to submit photos. About once a month, we’ll change out the photo and include a link to the photographer’s site. If you are interested in submitting a photo, let us know.

It has worked beautifully, but they aren’t shy about calling it a beta anyway.

If they can say it, then I feel no shame in telling you that this site, which is only about a week old, is in beta. There are plenty of gaps to fill in, some kinks to work out, and there might even be a typo here or there. But look it over, and if you find any issues, please leave a comment below.
