When we launched the new site, we hoped to use the large image banner on the home page to feature the work of local photographers capturing life in Austin. Our first photo went live today, courtesy of Phil Coffman. Phil is a local designer, photographer, and a friend of mine. He has some great work on Flickr and I always enjoy seeing the pictures he takes with his iPhone. Thanks for making great art, Phil.

It has been in development for a few months, so I’m excited that it is finally ready for you to see it too! Of course, there are likely still a few kinks to be worked out here and there.

This afternoon, we launched the new design for the Austin Mustard Seed website. It has been in development for a few months, so I’m excited that it is finally ready for you to see it too! Of course, there are likely still a few kinks to be worked out here and there.
We have some unique plans for the large image the stretches across the home page. The image that is in place now is only a placeholder that is to be replaced by a virtual photo gallery. Much like an artist or photographer might be able to display their work in a coffee shop, I’m making this space available to local photographers. I’ve already been in contact with a few photographers from our church community and others I know in Austin to submit photos. About once a month, we’ll change out the photo and include a link to the photographer’s site. If you are interested in submitting a photo, let us know.

I’ve been using Gmail for at least four years. It has worked beautifully, but they aren’t shy about calling it a beta anyway.

If they can say it, then I feel no shame in telling you that this site, which is only about a week old, is in beta. There are plenty of gaps to fill in, some kinks to work out, and there might even be a typo here or there. But look it over, and if you find any issues, please leave a comment below.
