Gatherings
The life of the church is one of breathing in and breathing out. A brilliant theologian named Jurgen Moltmann describes it this way: “Gathering and sending are related to one another like breathing in and breathing out. The important thing is therefore to view life in the everyday world as just as important as the gathering of the congregation in the feast of worship.”
To be the church is to live in the rhythm of gathering together and then being sent out. We believe that church is not a place we go to, but a people we gather together, always with an awareness that we are to be sent out again.
In this early season of the church, our main gathering is in NW Austin. We meet in the home of the Chandler family on Sunday mornings. This is an open gathering and anyone is welcome to join us.
We begin with a time of study and dialogue, followed by a shared meal. Please contact us to RSVP so we can have an idea of how much to make. We’ll send you directions and let you know what we’re having for lunch if you would like to bring a dish to share.
We value families sharing life in a church community together, so children are welcome too. They are part of our gathering, but activities are available for younger children during our time of study and dialogue.
