Frequently Asked Questions
What if I'm not sure I believe?
Great! Austin Mustard Seed is a church for passionate believers and hopeful skeptics. We are all in different places somewhere along that spectrum, and we come together to experience community and learn the practices of Jesus.
What about kids?
Kids participate in the beginning and end of our Liturgy but have their own teaching time. You can learn more here.
What is your gathering schedule?
The first and third Sundays of the month we will meet for liturgy in the chapel at Rosedale. The second and fourth Sundays of the month we will meet in house churches.
Where do I go?
Austin Mustard Seed gathers for Liturgy the first and third Sunday of the month at 10:30 am in the Orange Chapel at Rosedale Baptist Church (4400 Maybelle). You can park on the street or in the parking lot on the south side. Come on in and grab some coffee.
House churches meet the second and fourth Sundays. Get in touch to find and times and locations.
What do I wear?
This is Austin, so people are usually pretty casual.
Why do you do Liturgy?
We love how Liturgy forms us as people and gives so many an opportunity to help lead. You can learn more about it here.
How can I participate?
Come back a second week, and we’ll probably give you a job! We always need people who can help set up, make coffee, lead prayers, not to mention, many other opportunities throughout the week. You can send contact our staff to learn more.
What do you believe?
We stand alongside centuries of Christian tradition in embracing the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. We also see Christianity as a continuation of the long story of God’s work in the world — read how we understand that story.
